Honestly, it depends on the pet and the garment — but with the right fit, most do.

Many pets are perfectly comfortable in well-fitted clothing made from soft, breathable fabrics. Short-haired breeds, small dogs, and hairless cats often benefit from the extra warmth. The key is proper fit, gentle materials, and letting your pet adjust at their own pace.
A few patterns we've seen across our own pets and customer feedback:
Proper fit comes first.Loose enough to move freely, snug enough not to twist. Our Size Guide walks through chest, neck, and length.
Natural fabrics breathe. We avoid heavy synthetics, especially around the chest and underarms.
Let them tell you.If your pet pauses, sits, and forgets they have anything on — you've got a good piece. If they freeze or scratch at it, it's the wrong fit.
"At PAWSE, we test every product on our own pets first. We only offer products that pass our own comfort standards."

FAQ›ABOUT PET CLOTHING›QUESTION 02
Which pets benefit most from clothing?
Short-haired, small, hairless, and senior pets gain the most from a well-fitted layer.
Comfort isn't one-size-fits-all — some pets simply lose heat faster, or have less natural protection. Here are the groups we design with in mind:
Short-haired breeds.Greyhounds, French Bulldogs, Chihuahuas — they lack natural insulation.
Small dogs.Toy Poodles, Yorkies, Maltese — they lose body heat quickly.
Hairless cats.Sphynx and similar — no fur protection at all.
Senior pets.Reduced ability to regulate body temperature.
Puppies and kittens.Still developing temperature regulation.
Post-surgery recovery.A comfortable alternative to the cone.
If your pet fits one of these — or you're just unsure — start with one piece, observe for an afternoon, and trust their reaction.

FAQ›ABOUT PET CLOTHING›QUESTION 03
When should you not dress your pet?
If they're hot, stressed, or restricted — it's a no, every time.
We believe comfort always comes first. Skip the outfit if any of these apply:
Too warm.Your pet is panting, seeking shade, or it's a hot day.
Showing stress.Freezing, tucking tail, or actively trying to remove it.
Sleeping unsupervised.Unless it's a post-surgery recovery suit designed for sleep.
Restricting them.Movement, vision, or breathing should never feel limited.
"If your pet isn't comfortable, they shouldn't wear it. It's that simple."
